FAQ - Health and Fitness Coaching for Women
At Resilient Health and Fitness, I work with women at all stages of life-from complete beginners to experienced athletes returning after time away. Below are answers to the most common questions I receive from clients.
Getting Started
I’m unfit / overweight / out of practice… is this for me?
Yes. You don’t need to be fit to start–you just need to start. I meet you exactly where you are and help you progress step by step, without pressure or judgment.
Do I need any special equipment?
Nope! We can design your plan around what you have–whether that’s a gym, a few dumbbells at home, or just your bodyweight and a yoga mat.
What’s the difference between virtual and hybrid coaching?
Virtual coaching includes a custom training plan, weekly check–ins, and support via app. Hybrid coaching adds regular Zoom or in–person 1–to–1 sessions for extra accountability, coaching, and progression.
Menopause & Hormonal Health
I’m peri/menopausal. Will this make my symptoms worse?
Not at all–movement can be one of the most powerful tools to reduce symptoms like hot flushes, anxiety, brain fog, and weight gain. I tailor your training to work with your body, not against it.
What if I’m also dealing with an underactive thyroid or fatigue?
That’s taken into account. We prioritise recovery, build gradually, and track energy closely so your body can respond safely.
Training & Injury Concerns
I've had a past injury. Can I still train?
Yes-safely and effectively. I’ve worked with many women returning after back injuries, joint issues, or surgeries. We’ll start where you’re comfortable and build confidence in movement again.
Will I be expected to do intense cardio or heavy lifting?

Do we need to have gym access ?
No. I can tailor your training to your available kit – whether that’s a full gym, resistance bands, or just bodyweight and a few kettlebells. For in person team sessions I can bring kit or arrange for a gym to host the session.
Is this suitable for beginner or first-time crews?

Can this be delivered remotely for international teams?
Yes. Most Row Resilience programmes are delivered online, with regular Zoom check-ins and all plans shared through a coaching app. International clients are very welcome.
How far in advance should we start for challenge preparation?
For Challenge preparation as early as possible and Ideally at least 12 months before your challenge – but even if you’re 3–6 months out, there’s still time to make a difference. Reach out and we’ll build a plan to fit.
Can this be adapted for a club setting?
Yes. Row Resilience is ideal for groups training toward shared events, club development goals, or fundraising challenges.
What if my team members are at different fitness levels?
