Strength, Stability & Stamina for the World’s Toughest Challenges

Whether youre racing across the ocean or charging down the coast, rowing demands more than just time on the water. It demands strength. Resilience. And a body prepared for the extremes.

Row Resilience is a bespoke coaching programme designed for rowing teams or solo rowers preparing for high-endurance events like the World’s Toughest Row. This isn’t generic S&C – it’s rowing-specific support for real-world performance.

Why Resilient

Why Row Resilience?

Because preparing for a challenge like rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic requires more than cardio. It requires:

  • Bodies that are strong, stable, and injury-resistant
  • Programmes that adapt to your crew’s setup, goals, and training style
  • Support that understands the demands – because I’m facing them too
Samantha Wood Resilient Health and Fitness

Hi, I’m Sam Wood - Your Personal Coach

I’m not just a coach – I’m currently training to row the Atlantic myself. I know what’s at stake, what it takes, and how to build a plan that works around busy lives, variable crews, and big dreams.

  • Created by a British Rowing-qualified coach with 30+ years of rowing experience
  • I’m currently training for the World’s Toughest Row, so I understand:
    • What the training actually feels like
    • How to balance life, work, training, and recovery
    • What makes or breaks performance during an ocean crossing.

This offer isn’t just about getting stronger – it’s about becoming more resilient, consistent, and prepared for the unique challenges of rowing long and rowing hard.

Indoor rowing technique coaching

To improve your stroke mechanics, boost power efficiency, and reduce injury risk on the erg. Poor form on the erg is one of the most common causes of injury in endurance rowers.

  • Train more efficiently
  • Stay injury-free across thousands of reps
  • Build indoor habits that transfer to the boat

this ensures every stroke is working with your body, not against it

  • Video Review & Feedback – Send footage of your rowing (on erg) and receive detailed
    feedback on :
    • Stroke length and sequencing
    • Body position, hinge and reach
    • Drag factor settings and resistance
    • Common energy leaks and strain points
  • Posture & Erg Setup Guidance; tailored advice on footplate position, damper setting, handle
path, and monitor height for optimal form and comfort
  • Help align indoor technique across your team so that training is consistent – even when
you’re rowing remotely in separate locations

Injury Prevention & Mobility

  • Movement screening and individual risk areas addressed
  • Joint-care strategies and rowing-specific mobility routines.
  • Prehab to avoid downtime later in training
  • Support for common rowing-related injuries (back, hips, ribs, wrists)
  • Dynamic warm-ups and recovery tools that fit into a busy crew schedule
